Mistakes Make Masterful Teachers
“Mistakes make masterful teachers.” -Nas
Where would we be without our mistakes? I know exactly where I would be. I would still be living this toxic cycle of over-consumption of alcohol, secrets, superficial friendships, debilitating guilt, and internal suffering.
I would still be choosing opportunities to drink over making memories with my children, nurturing friendships, and living a full life with the precious little time we have on this planet.
I could wallow in regret for the missed days, the lost memories, and this “what may have been” pity party, or I can choose to learn from my mistakes and live my best life right here right now!
My mistakes served a critical role in my growth and helping to shape who I am now. I will release the suffering and hold on to the lessons. And perhaps the wisdom I’ve incurred can help others break their own toxic cycles too. Perhaps we are all destined to be teachers when we tell our stories and face our demons.
