Apparently, old Bill Murray movies have chiseled quite an indentation on my brain. My last post was about Groundhog Day, and this week’s got me thinking about an old VHS classic, What About Bob?
Do you remember this one? Bob, the neurotic patient of a psychiatrist, played by Richard Dryfuss, going so far as to surprise Dryfuss’s family on their vacation. Much to Dryfuss’s dismay, his family embraces Bob’s eclectic innocence. The psychiatrist’s initial “Bob” problem becomes the touchstone his family needed all along.
